Oude liefde roest niet
In this new Belgian-Dutch performance, the frontman of the well-known band VOF de Kunst – Nol Havens – enters into the musical language battle with the Flemish singer-songwriter Amaryllis Temmerman.
The Dutch pop group VOF de Kunst scored a monster hit in the 1980s with “Suzanne”. No fewer than three million copies were sold worldwide. A few more hits followed, such as “1 kopje koffie” and “Oude liefde roest niet”, after which the band mainly focused on making children’s songs.
This time VOF de Kunst will not be on stage with “Suzanne” but with Amaryllis!
Amaryllis and VOF de Kunst share a passion for better Dutch song: an old love that has flowed through their veins for a long time and grows stronger every day and will never rust.
They browse through each other’s repertoire and search together for their mutual musical heroes.

This performance for the 2018-2019 season does not aim to put the protest of May 68 in the psychedelic light. (What’s left of it anyway?)
The pop music of that time is often still wonderfully naive, and sometimes funny with names like ‘The Beach Boys’, ‘The Monkeys’, ‘The Turtles’, ‘The Beetles’, ‘The Birds’ and The Bee Gees… Well, the English language was given the red carpet in official radio stations and certainly at pirate stations floating on the water of the North Sea.

So prepare yourself for a show with a lot of music from the years around 1968, interspersed with anecdotes from that time. The whole thing is pleasantly put together by Eddy Temmerman, who presented the Soldatenhalfuurtje between May 1967 and May 1968.
Amaryllis Temmerman and John Terra cover numerous songs, all in the atmosphere of the late 60s and early 70s. They are actually digging into a gold mine of well-known and sometimes forgotten hits.
Tussen Winter & Wonder
It is no secret that Amaryllis Temmerman and Sabien Tiels have been working together since their concert tour with the Nijghse Vrouwen. The theater sisters are more than happy to create a new musical jacket together with which they will warm their audience this autumn!
Both singers love Christmas and also firmly believe in the power of positive thinking and its influence on our society. Dreaming together of a world where love rules.
From Vermandere’s “Kyrie Eleison”, Toon Hermans’ “Als liefde niet bestond” to Urbanus’ “Bakske vol met Stro” via “Suza Nina” to Nijgh’s “Alles wat ademt” to “Een beter land” by Van Veen, add add a nice selection of retranslations of Christmas classics and the journey “Tussen winter en wonder” can begin, on the way to peace.

Nijghs Women
Lennaert Nijgh wrote a wealth of songs, best known in performances by Boudewijn De Groot, Astrid Nijgh, Jasperina de Jong, Ramses Shaffy, Liesbeth List, Ellie Nieman and Rob de Nijs. He leaves behind a unique and impressive repertoire that can without a doubt be counted among the best of Dutch song. Just think of the timeless pearls ‘Meneer de President’, ‘Testament’, ‘Meisje van 16’, ‘Ik doe wat ik doe’, ‘Malle Babbe’, ‘Pastorale’.
Under the impetus of Astrid Nijgh, Lennaert’s first wife, this wonderful repertoire is honored by four ladies, renamed Nijghse Vrouwen for this performance. Astrid Nijgh, Riet Muylaert (JackoBond), Sabien Tiels and Amaryllis Temmerman take you on a surprising journey of discovery and give you an intimate concert. The Nijghse Vrouwen do what Lennaert Nijgh had in mind with his texts: touching people.
In de 14 billekens
Where is the time for track cafes? Where is the time of the dance halls? It was the time of unadulterated dancing pleasure in which Decap’s organ was usually one of the leading players. One of those dance halls was the world-famous De 14 Billekens in Flanders. Run by a lady with 6 daughters (hence 14…). This was the Mecca of the dance lover. In this performance, Tony Decap (the fourth generation of the Decap family and still one of the driving forces behind the Orgelfabriek in Herentals) accompanies the organ live on piano. David Davidse and Amaryllis Temmerman are the singers. They immerse you in the greatest hits from the history of dance halls. Songs by Tom Jones, Frank Sinatra, Edith Piaf, Will Tura, Sandy Shaw, Sonny & Cher and other classics from that era. In short, a nostalgic trip to the past!
Jukebox voor kids
Het trio van ‘Jukebox voor kids’ Martine de Kok, Amaryllis Temmerman en Bert Verbeke bieden het jonge publiek vijftig keuzemogelijkheden, waarbij de kinderen vooraf – via een website – én tijdens de voorstelling zelf, kunnen bepalen wat ze willen horen. Van Samson & Gert naar Jan De Smet, van Het Geluidshuis naar Herman Van Veen, van K3 naar de Disney-klassiekers.
Het concert mondt steevast uit in een feest waarbij de kinderen reeds vanaf het eerste nummer uit volle borst kunnen meezingen en dansen. Tijdens het concert gaan Martine, Amaryllis en Bert met de I-pad de zaal in zodat het aanwezige publiek ook op het moment zelf hun favoriete nummer kan kiezen.

In ‘Expo 58’ brengen zangeres Amaryllis Temmerman en acteurverteller Johny Voners, begeleid door een driekoppig muziekcombo, impressies over de jaren 1953-1963, de jaren na de wereldtentoonstelling Expo 58 in Brussel.

Hommage aan Miel Cools
De Hommage aan Miel Cools is uiteraard een reis van 2 uren naar het verleden, maar het brengt ook nieuws. De bekende liedjes van Miel Cools worden gebracht door muzikanten die soms met gemak de kinderen of zelfs kleinkinderen van de oude troubadour hadden kunnen zijn. Dat die jonge generatie zo charmant om kan gaan met het werk van de bejaarde bard, is verrassend.
Midden op het podium zit Miel Cools omringd door de muzikanten die hem een hommage gaan brengen, links de relatief jonge muzikanten van Rosbos en Wouter Berlaen en Amaryllis Temmerman, rechts de al wat oudere leden van De Vaganten. Om beurten zingen ze een liedje van Miel en dat brengt het publiek terug naar vroeger tijden. De Vaganten nemen vooral het allervroegste werk voor hun rekening (zoals Mirabella); de anderen zingen en spelen de liedjes van daarna (zoals Boer Bavo). Met haar prachtige stem en ingehouden emotie zingt Amaryllis Temmerman liedjes als “Nachten dat de spin niet spint”. En Wouter Berlaen toont zijn persoonlijkheid en vakmanschap in onder meer “Het is morgen en het regent weer”. De gasten van Rosbos pakken het wat onstuimiger aan, maar niet minder aanstekelijk. En het publiek zingt en klapt voorzichtig mee.
Symfollies: Familieconcert met filmvertoning
Symfollies is een virtuele wereld. De inwoners zijn tot leven gekomen muziekinstrumenten uit een symfonisch orkest. De personages beleven allerlei avonturen en communiceren met elkaar aan de hand van klassieke muziek die live wordt gebracht. Een familievoorstelling voor kinderen van 2 tot 99 jaar.
Kom en ontdek de wondere wereld van Symfollies. Vader Bas, moeder Celine, hun zoon Stradi en dochter Viola nemen je mee en laten je kennis maken met klassieke muziek onder begeleiding van een echt orkest. In de virtuele wereld van de Symfollies is niets te gek. De personages beleven allerlei grappige en spannende avonturen en communiceren met elkaar aan de hand van klassieke muziek.
Samen met Herman Verbruggen (Markske van FC De Kampioenen), Amaryllis Temmerman (bekend als zangeres en presentatrice van verschillende TV-programma’s) en Michel Bisceglia (pianist, productie) gaan we op symfonisch avontuur. Breng ook zeker je ouders en grootouders mee!
Een concert met kleine bezetting begeleidt de projectie op groot scherm van de Symfollies-filmpjes.
